Masaru Tatsuki

電飾を施したトラックとそのドライバーたちを9年に渡り撮影した写真集『DECOTORA』を2007年に発表。東北の地を足繁く訪ね、自然への畏敬とともにある営みを撮り続けた作品集『東北』（2011年）で、第37回木村伊兵衛写真賞を受賞した。2020年には発掘当時の新聞紙に包まれ博物館などに収められた縄文土器片を撮影し、折り重なる時間と空間を写し出した『KAKERA』を発表、2025年、母の死の後、自身が幼い頃から母が作り続けていたパッチワークを撮影する事で、母と自身の過去を探り出そうとする『ママ』を発表。

In 2007, he published DECOTORA, a photobook documenting elaborately illuminated trucks and their drivers over a period of nine years. He received the 37th Kimura Ihei Award for Tohoku (2011), a body of work created through repeated visits to the Tohoku region, capturing ways of life rooted in reverence for nature.

In 2020, he released KAKERA, photographing fragments of Jōmon pottery preserved in museums, often still wrapped in the newspapers many years after excavated—revealing layered dimensions of time and space. In 2025, following the death of his mother, he published Mama by tracking both her pat and his own. In Mama, he photographed patchworks made by his mother since his childhood.
